A few weeks back I had the day off and decided to make the day a day for giving the flat some love. The morning was spent waiting n for gas and electricity people popping in and fixing things and then the afternoon was all about the yellow and blue wonder that is Ikea.
I love Ikea. It's most definitely one of my happy places. I could wander those wide trolley filled aisles for days at a time and still be content. I love pondering the different room ideas, picking up knick knacks I don't need and of course sampling the meatballs, chips and gravy - best meal ever! So to say this visit wasn't a hardship is an understatement. It was basically my ideal Friday afternoon. The only issue with Ikea, not spending a small fortune...
I had a few things I needed to get there: new bedding (I went for this yellow spring design, isn't it pretty?!) and cushions (this one and this one) and of course I picked up loads of things I didn't need (this trolley and this side table) but isn't that how it always works?
But my favourite thing about the whole day? That would have been finally buying all the things I needed to make my very own feature wall for my bedroom. I've been lusting after one for ages and just haven't gotten round to it, so I'm very glad I managed to find the perfect shelves at good old Ikea and also that I added some cute frames and brilliant posters. As now I have these wonderful thing to look at each day!
Don't you just love it! My favourite part about the whole thing is that I can mix and match everything as often as I like (which is fairly often if I'm honest!). As you can see I'm still in need of a few more pictures to fill the empty frames and likewise I need to find the perfect frames for me new pictures. But it still looks pretty good as is and I'm rather pleased with it!
